First International Meeting on EEN and EMS in Mexico

On August 1st, 2018 the German-Mexican Energy Partnership hosted the #CocktailFirst event to mark the First International Meeting on Energy Efficiency Networks (EEN) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) in Mexico, celebrated the following day. Key stakeholders and authorities gathered to celebrate the results of the implementation of the energy efficiency networks methodology in Mexico.

Mrs. Daniela Méndez, responsible of the energy efficiency networks at GIZ Mexico, Mr. Odón de Buen, Director General of the National Commission for the Sustainable Use of Energy (CONUEE), and Mr. Santiago Creuheras, Director General of Energy Efficiency and Sustainability of SENER addressed the invitees to the event.

During the August 2nd event, more than a hundred participants exchanged experiences and lessons learned from the implementation of the energy efficiency networks and energy management systems. Experts from Germany, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia, Chile and Brazil discussed the recent developments in energy efficiency policies and the enactment of the standard ISO 50001.

The Energy Partnership supports the energy efficiency networks creation. For example, in November 2017 a delegation of experts from Mexico and Latin American countries, participated in a study tour to Berlin, in order to learn first hand Germany´s experience in that matter.
