Bilateral Meeting between Energy Ministers

After the official opening of the Hannover Fair 2018 by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), Peter Altmaier, and Mexican Minister of Energy (SENER), Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, held a bilateral meeting.

With the differences between the Mexican “Reforma Energética” and the German “Energiewende” in mind, both underlined the importance of the energy partnership for mutual learning from each other on how to successfully address similar challenges. Moreover, the ministers clearly expressed the aspiration of even further developing the German-Mexican Energy Partnership into a role-model for other partnerships.
