• The German-Mexican Energy Partnership (EP) joins the strategic alliances promoted by the Mexican Hydrogen Association.
• The Association has signed agreements with INEEL, CICM, AMDEE, ANES, UNAM's IER and COGENERA.
• The objective of these collaboration agreement is to exchange information and best practices to strengthen the technology transfer.

Mexico City, February 16, 2022.- The German-Mexican Energy Partnership joins the strategic alliances promoted by the Mexican Hydrogen Association (AMH2), with the objective of fostering the exchange of information and best practices for the development and use of green hydrogen technology in Mexico.

The EP is a cooperation project implemented by the German Cooperation for Sustainable Development in Mexico (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) of Germany. The AE promotes dialogue between Germany and Mexico to support the development of the energy transition.

Less than a year after its creation, AMH2 has signed collaboration agreements with the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico (CICM); the National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energy (INEEL); the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE); the National Solar Energy Association (ANES); the Institute of Renewable Energies (IER) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); and COGENERA.

With this agreement, AE will actively work with AMH2 and its membership in the research and communication of green hydrogen technologies as a key instrument for the decarbonization of economies.

"With these strategic alliances we are significantly strengthening the Mexican Hydrogen Association, and paving the way to detonate the green hydrogen industry in the country."

"For GIZ it is a focus to facilitate international exchange on new technologies such as green hydrogen. Having strategic allies in the industry, such as AMH2, is essential to boost the fight against climate change," said Marita Brömmelmeier, resident director of GIZ in Mexico.

Today, AMH2 has almost 50 associated companies, whose activities are focused on the development of activities within the hydrogen industrial value chain, so its conformation aims to join efforts to detonate this industry in our country. For its part, the AE has strategic alliances with several actors in the private, public and academic sectors that allow promoting dialogue on green hydrogen as one of the viable alternatives to decarbonize the energy sector.
