High-Level Steering Group Decides Activities 2017-2018


On the margins of the 7th International Renewable Energy Conference – MEXIREC – the High-level Steering Group of the German-Mexican Energy Partnership met for the second time on 11 September 2017.

At this meeting, former State Secretary Baake and his Mexican counterparts responsible for the energy transition and electricity – Leonardo Beltrán and César Hernández – defined the activities for 2017-2018. Germany and Mexico reaffirmed their commitments and agreed to work together on a wide range of issues, including power markets, the integration of variable renewables, energy efficiency in the industry, the elimination of inefficient energy subsidies, and joint international initiatives.

The Steering Group is responsible for the strategic focus and direction of the Energy Partnership, the identification and approval of joint activities, as well as the review of progress.
